SiMPACT RESPONDS TO SROI INTEREST ACROSS CANADA
written by: Laura Dickson, COO
During the month of March, the SiMPACT SROI team took our training and customized SROI analysis on the road. Our first stop was Yellowknife, NWT where we presented two days of introductory SROI training to individuals with the Government of the Northwest Territories.
Next on our list was the Province of New Brunswick where we continued work with the First Steps program in Saint John, engaging staff and participant stakeholders in a day of interviews and focus groups. While in NB, we had an opportunity to present to the Government of New Brunswick on the ways in which an SROI may be used to illustrate value creation, and in particular how the methodology highlights the positive outcomes arising from collaboration between sectors. Our stop-over in Fredericton also included a presentation at the Pond-Desphande Centre’s Social Entrepreneurship Conference.
In Toronto, the SiMPACT Team kicked off a new project with the Ontario Trillium Foundation which involves the evaluation of the impact of the Community Capital Fund on grant recipients and their communities. Coming up, the team will be travelling to Ontario and Saskatchewan to deliver accreditation training on behalf of SROI Canada. These courses will take place on May 9 and 10 in Ottawa and June 3 and 4 in Saskatoon.
